Why convert PNG to JPG
PNG stores images losslessly, which makes photo PNGs surprisingly heavy — often several times the size of the same picture as a JPG. Converting to JPG shrinks them dramatically, which is ideal when you need to email, upload or post a photo and don't need transparency or pixel-perfect fidelity.
JPG is also the most universally accepted image format: every form, printer, CMS and device takes it. The quality slider lets you decide exactly how much size to trade for detail.
How to convert and pick a quality
Add your PNGs above, keep the output on JPG, and set the quality slider — 85–90 keeps photos looking essentially identical while still cutting size hard. Download each file or the whole batch as a ZIP.
One thing to know: JPG has no transparency. Any transparent areas in a PNG are filled with white during conversion, so logos or cut-outs that need a see-through background should stay as PNG or WebP instead.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparency?
JPG doesn't support transparency; transparent areas are filled with white during conversion.
How much smaller will the JPG be?
For photographic PNGs, JPG at quality 85–90 is often 70–90% smaller with no visible difference. Flat graphics with few colours may shrink less.
What quality should I choose?
Start at 90 for photos you care about, or 75–80 when small size matters more than fine detail. You can re-convert at a different setting anytime — the original PNG is untouched.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion runs in your browser using your device's own processor — nothing is sent to a server.
