Why convert JPG to PNG
JPG is a lossy format: every time it is edited and re-saved it loses a little more detail. Converting to PNG gives you a lossless container, so from that point on repeated edits and saves won't degrade the image further. It is also the format many design tools, print workflows and app pipelines expect.
PNG cannot undo compression that already happened — it will not sharpen a soft JPG — but it freezes the current state exactly and lets you add transparency if you later cut out a background.
How to convert JPG to PNG
Drop your JPGs above, keep the output on PNG, and download. There is no quality slider because PNG is lossless, and there are no watermarks or file caps beyond 100 files / 100MB each per batch. Everything runs on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Will JPG to PNG improve quality?
No — PNG preserves exactly what's in the JPG without adding new loss. It prevents *further* quality loss in later edits.
Why is my PNG larger than the JPG?
PNG is lossless, so it stores every pixel without JPG's compression. For photos that usually means a bigger file — which is the trade-off for editing without further degradation.
Can I get a transparent background?
Converting won't remove a background on its own, but PNG supports transparency, so once you erase the background in an editor the PNG will preserve it.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser — your images never leave your device.
